জাহাঙ্গীরনগর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে Soho Project এর ডিসেমিনেশন মিটিং ও Smart, Optimized, High-quality, and On-demand Tourism Innovative Education for Sustainable and Green Development শীর্ষক প্রশিক্ষণ কর্মশালা আজ সকাল দশটায় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের জান্নাতুল ফেরদৌস সিনেট কক্ষে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপ-উপাচার্য (শিক্ষা) অধ্যাপক ড. মো. শামছুল আলম। অনুষ্ঠানটি যৌথভাবে আমেরিকান ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ইউনিভার্সিটি বাংলাদেশ (এআইইউবি) ও জাহাঙ্গীরনগর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় যৌথভাবে আয়োজন করে। 

অনুষ্ঠানে প্রধান অতিথির বক্তব্যে উপ-উপাচার্য (শিক্ষা) বলেন, স্মার্ট প্রযুক্তি, নবায়নযোগ্য শক্তি এবং টেকসই উদ্ভাবনের সাথে পর্যটন শিক্ষাকে যুক্ত করা অত্যন্ত সময়োপযোগী। দক্ষ পেশাদার তৈরি এবং একটি শক্তিশালী ও প্রতিযোগিতামূলক পর্যটন খাত গঠনে জাহাঙ্গীরনগর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় গবেষণা, কারিকুলাম উন্নয়ন ও শিল্প-সরকারি সহযোগিতার মাধ্যমে নিরবচ্ছিন্নভাবে কাজ করে যাচ্ছে। 

অনুষ্ঠানে ইনস্টিটিউট অব ইনফরমেশন টেকনোলজি (আইআইটি) পরিচালক অধ্যাপক ড. রিসালা তাসিন খান, অধ্যাপক ড. মোহাম্মদ আবু ইউসুফ,  অধ্যাপক ড. এম শামীম কায়সার, ন্যাশনাল ইউনিভার্সিটি অব সায়েন্স এন্ড টেকনোলজি পলিটেকনিকার, রোমানিয়া’র অধ্যাপক ড. ভ্লাদিমির তানাসিয়েভ, এআইইউবির উপ-উপাচার্য অধ্যাপক ড. মো. আব্দুর রহমান  উপস্থিত ছিলেন ।

Soho Project Dissemination Meeting and Training Workshop Held

Jahangirnagar University, September 17, 2026

A dissemination meeting and a training workshop under the Soho Project titled “Smart, Optimized, High-quality, and On-demand Tourism Innovative Education for Sustainable and Green Development'' were held today at 10:00 AM in the Jannatul Ferdous Senate Hall of Jahangirnagar University. Professor Dr. Md. Shamsul Alam, Pro-VC (Academic) of the university, attended the event as the chief guest. The program was jointly organized by the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) and Jahangirnagar University.

Speaking as the chief guest, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic) remarked that integrating tourism education with smart technology, renewable energy, and sustainable innovation is highly timely. He noted that Jahangirnagar University is continuously working through research, curriculum development, and industry-government collaboration to produce skilled professionals and build a robust, competitive tourism sector.

Distinguished attendees included Professor Dr. Risala Tasin Khan, Director of the Institute of Information Technology (IIT); Professor Mohammad Abu Yousuf, Professor Dr. M. Shamim Kaiser, Professor Dr. Vladimir Tanasiev from the National University of Science and Technology Politehnica, Romania, and Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of AIUB.
