Master of Social Science
Courses of study for a Master degree will extend over a period of one academic year. Final examination will be held after the completion one academic year. Of the total marks in a particular theory course, 80% will be from the written examination to be held at the end of the course and 20% from tutorials and class tests conducted through out the course. For the practical courses 80% will be from a final examination to be held on completion of the examination at the end of each part and 20% from regular assessment of the courses. The distribution of marks will be as shown in the details. Total mark will be 750 including practical and viva-voice for both thesis group and non-thesis group students. Each student of thesis group has to take courses equivalent to 550 marks including practical.

Recommendation Criteria’s to undertake a Masters’ Thesis
- A student has to obtain a minimum GPA of 3.50 at Honours level.
- The word limit for thesis would be 25000 words.
- A student if desires to undertake a thesis has to give a presentation infront of the department academic committee.
- A student has to submit thesis paper within 60 days time after the completion of theory exams and give a seminar on his/her thesis topic before submitting thesis paper.
- One faculty member (Teacher) will be allowed to supervise maximum two students in each academic year. The supervisor will be chosen through academic meeting.
- If there is a provision, number of thesis paper will be 100 marks equivalent to one full unit course.
