Bachelor of Social Science
Courses of study for an Honors degree will extend over a period of four academic years and will be divided into four parts: Part I, Part II, Part III, Part IV. Part I examination will be held after the completion the first year, Part II at the end of the second year, Part III at the end of the third year and Part IV at the end of the fourth year. Of the total marks in a particular theory course, 70% will be from the written examination to be held at the end of the course, 20% from tutorials and class test conducted through out the course and 10% will be evaluate on class attendance. For the practical courses 70% will from a final examination to be held on completion of the examination at the end of each part and 20% from regular assessment of the course and 10% will be evaluate on class attendance. For fieldwork courses 20% will be from the performance in the field (will be assessed by the field supervisor(s)) and 80% will be from field report submitted by the students (will be assessed by the chief field supervisor and external). The distribution of marks will be as shown in the details. Total marks will be 3400 including field works, practical and viva voice. Each student has to take all the courses of Part I ,Part II, Part III and 900 marks in total from the courses of Part IV . The fieldwork courses of the Part II , Part III and Part IV and Viva Voice of Part I, Part II, Part III and Part IV will be compulsory. Results of the students will be decided on the performance of the students in the four parts taken together.
